Please Note: Effective February 10th, 2024, session rates will be rising to fall within the current industry fee scale for Registered Counselling Therapists. Individual sessions will be $155 for a 55 minute session, and Couples sessions will be $195 for an 80 minute session. All sessions booked prior to this date will be honoured at the rate charged on the day of booking. Any session credits will be honoured for a session, regardless of when the session is booked for. Anyone who finds the fees challenging to meet is asked to contact Stephanie at Stephanie@Tidalstonecounselling.com to discuss a sliding scale rate. Existing sliding scale rates will not be changing.

If you need to reschedule an appointment that has already been booked, please DO NOT cancel the original appointment and then rebook a new one. When you do this, the cancelled session is credited to your Tidalstone account, and the system will charge you again for the rebooked session. Instead, please CHANGE the original appointment to the new day and time that you would like. If you need to cancel an appointment and then rebook at a later date, or if you have a credit on your account, please email Stephanie directly (Stephanie@TidalstoneCounselling.com) with the day and time that you would like to book in for. She will book you in on her end, so that your account credit can be applied. Thank you.

Stephanie Dean-Moore is a counselling therapist, visual artist and educator.  She has worked with clients and students of all ages, from pre-schoolers to adults in their nineties.  She has extensive experience working in the Arts, and as well as traditional talk therapy, she uses arts methods therapeutically in her counselling work.

As an educator, Stephanie has worked in the public school system since 1991, and with arts institutions such as the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, The Dawson Printshop of Dalhousie University, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University and the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design. Much of her work as an arts educator involves helping others to use the arts to explore and express themselves at a deeper level.  She is a past president of the Nova Scotia Art Teachers Association and has worked with educators to integrate the arts into their work with children and youth.

As a visual artist, Stephanie has worked in a variety of media, including textiles, book arts and jewellery.  Her work has been exhibited throughout Canada as well as internationally, and has appeared in several publications.  Much of her work is therapeutically-based, using her art making to explore personal issues such as grief, loss and fear.

Her therapeutically-based art practice, as well as her work supporting others to use art making in a meaningful way, lead Stephanie into the field of counselling.  She is a nationally certified therapist and has worked as a counsellor in the public school system since 2016.  Her school practice is with youth between the ages of 13 and 20 and their families.  In private practice, she works with individual clients and groups of all ages. She uses many therapeutic modalities in her counselling work, tailoring sessions around individual client needs and strengths.

Stephanie is a certified Hiking Field Leader through the Outdoors Council of Canada, and when she is not counselling or making art, she can be found hiking through the beautiful wilderness of Nova Scotia.
